PrOJECT MANAGEMENT
Libby Wilson-Smith joined our team in 2021 and is a very experienced Project Manager. Her role is to ensure that a project runs smoothly and in a timely manner, keeping a close eye on budget.
REASONS TO INVOLVE A PROJECT MANAGER
The Project Manager is an important role, especially in projects using more than one contractor. They are an independent person who is available for you throughout all stages of the build and can keep a close eye on all trades, carrying out regular site visits to ensure things are running smoothly and on schedule.
Initial concept - the Project Manager will work alongside the architectural designer, assisting with design ideas and being involved with the project during the planning process
Building Regulations - the Project Manager would make contact with the Building Inspector on your behalf and ensure that they are notified at the correct stages during the build process
Tender package - preparing and issuing tender documentation, to get you the best trades and negotiate a reasonable price
The Project Manager will liaise with the Structural Engineer and Quantity Surveyor, and has a good understanding of building fabric and the sourcing of sepcialist materials
Accurate budgeting - the Project Manager will keep an eye on budget and ensure you agree any changes to the contract sum
Programme of works
Sequencing and co-ordination of all building works - the Project Manager will keep a close eye on all trades to ensure that they are working within their timeframes and keep you updated if there are any delays.
Site visits - it is important for the design team to be aware of the progress of the build to be able to assist you with any changes, as well as ensuring the construction is in accordance with the approved details
